We are deeply saddened by the sudden death of Cllr Julia Cherrett this weekend. Julia was first elected to represent the newly formed Bishopsgarth & Elm Tree ward in May 2005, alongside Suzanne Fletcher. At this time our deepest sympathies are with Julia's family and we ask that their privacy is respected. Stockton Liberal Democrats will publish a full tribute to Julia during the coming week.

Those who can grow and sell their crop at Fairtrade prices see huge benefits in education, health and basic living standards as a result of the extra payments they get.
