Unicycling to School

EKJC

As ward councillors for Bishopsgarth and Elm Tree, Stockton, we were delighted to see the story of Cameron Peacock and his daily journey to Bishopsgarth School.

Many young people are still driven to school causing problems in terms of congestion, environmental impact and disruption to local residents. We've tried to encourage more youngsters to walk at least part of the journey or to cycle but this young man goes even further and cycles on just one wheel. What a shining example he is. Three and a half miles each day when some parents believe that their children cannot walk 300 yards!

So, to all parents out there, regardless of which school your child attends, do think of alternatives to driving up to the school gates.
