TRUE COST OF BREXIT
Drew Durning, Stockton South Parliamentary spokeman said today :
"Now we can see the true cost of Brexit. Lower growth, increased debt, higher inflation, massive borrowing and a £122bn hole in the public finances. Brexit will cost £421m just for the extra administration in the civil service! The Conservatives reputation for management of the economy is in tatters.
Last week the LibDems called for positive action [http://www.libdems.org.uk/autumn-statement-demands] on the NHS, the Single Market, the Housing crisis and public sector pay rises. Now we have seen there is nothing for the NHS or social care in the Autumn statement, no guarantees about the single market, too little for the housing market and nothing extra for public sector pay.
With Labour in chaos over Brexit, the LibDems are now the only real opposition and it is only through our policy of a referendum on the terms of Brexit that the electorate can help save the economy"
