JACQUIE CAMPAIGNS FOR FAIRER TAXES

Jacquie Bell and the Stockton Lib Dem Team have been out in sunny Yarm High Street giving local people the good news of Lib Dem plans for fairer taxes.

The Lib Dem plans announced by Nick Clegg and Vince Cable mean that if you earn less that £10,000 a year you won't pay any Income Tax. If you earn more than £10,000 you will be £700 a year better off.

These taxes will be paid for by a new Mansion Tax on houses worth over £2 million and taxes on pollution. Tax loopholes exploited by the very rich will also be closed.

Jacquie says, "Labour has failed to deliver fairer taxes. The burden on middle and low income families is often higher than that on the very rich.

We believe that the very rich should pay a bit more in order to put money back into the pockets of ordinary people.

The Liberal Democrats are the only party offering fair taxes to local residents after years of let down by Labour.

The Conservatives are prioritising tax cuts for millionaires rather than help for local people"
