Jacquie Bell Stands Up for Children

25 Mar 2010

Stockton South Candidate Jacquie Bell has pledged to support the NSPCCs "I Stand for Children campaign"

"I value the NSPCC's work" said Jacquie. My late mother in law was very active in her local branch in Swainby/Hambleton. Over my years as a social worker I have worked with children and their families at risk.

Liberal Democrats produced a Child Protection paper in 2009 in which they addressed many of the requests made by the NSPCC including continued funding for Childline. Our Shadow Minister for Children, Schools and Families, Annette Brooke has recently tabled an early day motion on the impact of domestic violence on children.

Liberal Democrats want to strengthen the role of the Children's Commissioner and are committed to funding therapeutic services for children who have experienced abuse."
