Is Antisemitism a problem in Stockton Labour Party?

With the recent news that a Stockton Branch of the Labour Party voted down an emergency motion to condemn the antisemitic actions of the Pittsburgh shootings, the Stockton Liberal Democrats ask why such a thing occurred when a cabinet member and leader of the council was present.

According to a public release, the motion was voted down to due it failing to mention other forms of racism and seeking to remove certain specific antisemitic references. Furthermore those present argued against the motion stating that there was "antisemitism this" and "antisemitism that", critically the leader of council being in support of the voting down of the motion.

Stockton Liberal Democrats are appalled by this and urge for those involved to rethink their approach and say that we should stand in solidarity with Jewish people across Stockton, Teesside and around the world'

David Minchella, vice chair of Stockton Liberal Democrats said "we struggle to understand the logic behind this decision considering the recent events and current climate and argue that this problem is obviously prevalent in the Stockton Labour Party. "
