Calls for urgent bedroom tax review
18 Sep 2013
Moves to put an end to many of the problems caused by the "Bedroom Tax" were wholeheartedly agreed by Liberal Democrats at the Party Conference in Glasgow. They called for a review the rules, and carefully assess the impact immediately. Stockton representative Suzanne Fletcher spoke out from the platform about problems caused locally, and gave examples as to how some changes that could help tenants could be done quickly, with more flexibility, and exemptions.
She said " in the longer term we have to go back to the drawing board, but in the meantime some of the rules can be changed, quickly, to give more flexibility and exemptions, and that should be done now".
