Better dental care

14 Sep 2007

At their party conference next week, Stockton Liberal Democrats will be supporting a motion calling for preventative care to be included in the payment scheme for NHS dental patients and more flexibility in the system to allow for those with greatest need to have more time spent on them.

This was agreed unanimously by a local party meeting.

Councillor Suzanne Fletcher, who is going to the Conference in Brighton, along with Councillors Maureen Rigg, Alan Lewis and other local members, said

" time and again our residents are telling us in our regular surgeries that they are having difficulty in accessing NHS dental treatment and that they cannot afford the preventative treatment. If the Government takes note of this Conference proposal then people will be looking forward to a gain with less pain".
