JACQUIE THANKS STOCKTON SOUTH VOTERS

Jacquie Bell, PPC for Stockton South

Jacquie Bell

Jacquie Bell would like to thank all those who voted Liberal Democrat on May 6th. "We had more votes than in 2005 in a wider field of candidates and in the midst of a tactical voting battle between Labour and the Conservatives. It is interesting that more voters backed parties other than the winner. A sure sign of the need for a fairer voting system.

The campaign has brought a new interest in the party locally. We have gained in members and supporters from across the constituency which is a great springboard for the 2011 local elections. Stockton has a dedicated team of hardworking Lib Dem Councillors and we hope to add to their number next year.

I wish James Wharton well at Westminster and would like to thank Dari Taylor for her 13 years of service to Stockton South."
