Parliamentary Spokesperson, Jacquie Bell and the Stockton Liberal Democrat team, including all Stockton Lib Dem Councillors were calling on homes at the weekend with a One Minute Credit Crunch Survey.

Initial response was positive. Many people felt let down by the Government and its management of the economy. Some were pensioners who saw the income they needed from interests on investments declining. Others had been made redundant as their workplaces closed. Others were choosing to make cutbacks in their lifestyle. A number expressed concerns at their own financial pressures in the light of some MP's expenses, particularly those of Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith.
