Mortgage "help" is no help

Local Liberal Democrats are angry that the support that the Government is supposedly going to give to those facing repossession are far too restrictive and will not help most people desperately in need of support.

Campaigning again on 0844 numbers

After months of campaigning against the NHS using expensive 0844 numbers for patients to call them, local Liberal Democrats were pleased that University Hospital of North Tees had scrapped its premium rate 0844 telephone number they are asking "why are patients still receiving letters showing this number?"

Councillors Suzanne Fletcher and Julia Cherrett, Liberal Democrat Councillors for the Bishopsgarth and Elm Tree ward, are furious at developers snubbing the Council. There are a number of breaches on planning rules around, but one that everyone can see is the unauthorised boards advertising new houses.

Stockton Liberal Democrats are delighted that Councillor Julia Roberts today married Preston Parish Councillor Mike Cherrett. Mike was formerly the Borough Councillor for Preston Ward then Eaglescliffe Ward, retiring last year. Julia continues to represent Bishopsgarth and Elmtree ward.

Stockton South Candidate Chosen

Stockton South Liberal Democrats have selected Jacquie Bell as their candidate for the next Parliamentary election. Jacquie, a qualified social worker, is an experienced campaigner with family living on the nearby North York Moors.
